This suite is as old as the Company itself. Its short, sturdy design, star-cut foot and diamond-shaped bowl pattern have made it a favorite for well over half a century. Some years ago, in the course of the marketing rationalization to which all companies are prone, Tudor discontinued Burleigh. Popular demand saw it back in production, quite smartly -and it has remained so ever since. BURLEIGH, in its fifteenth century spelling (Burghley), is a name standing proud in Tudor history. William Cecil, first Baron Burghley, was Elizabeth's chief minister. Elected to Parliament in 1545, he became the Queen's principal spokesman, both in the Commons and in the Lords.
