Traditional Designs - Frobisher
While a stalwart of the Tudor range for many years, Frobisher was long confined to tumblers only (albeit often known as the "Rolls Royce of Tumblers"). However, 1987 saw the introduction of a complementary suite of stemmed wine glasses and Frobisher fanciers may now enjoy all the shapes and sizes previously only available in other patterns. FROBISHER. Sir Martin of that name was an Elizabethan navigator and explorer who led an expedition in 1576 to find the North West Passage. Canada's Frobisher Bay commemorates the event. Despite accusations of piracy in the 1560's, Frobisher was in the Queen's service within five years and was Vice-Admiral on Drake's West lndies expedition. Click here to return to the list
