Traditional Designs - Holbein
Another traditional pattern but more elaborate than most. Dormant for some years, Holbein was recently re-introduced, firstly to a restricted market, subsequently on a general basis. A diagonal fringe is cut round the top of the design, above a circle of fine diamonds, with cross centers below. One of the taller profiles in the Tudor range, Holbein comes in twenty-three of the regular shapes and sizes. HOLBEIN; like other famous names adorning the Tudor Crystal range, was a true servant of the House of Tudor. Hans Holbein, the younger, was a German painter, born in Augsberg in 1497. He traveled and painted extensively across the European continent and undertook many royal portraits, some of which continue to hang in Windsor Castle. Click here to return to the list
