Traditional Designs - Knyghton
A pillar of the Tudor range for decades past, its short-stemmed design renders it robust and durable without detracting from the elegance of its cutting. Knyghton has been popular in many homes for many years past, and the indications are that it will remain so for many years to come. KNYGHTON is not a name which proliferates Tudor history but it can be traced in the parish registers of Essex from the beginning of the sixteenth century. There is good reason to suppose that Knyghtons rode with the army raised by Elizabeth's favorite, Robert, Earl of Sussex, to confront the Armada had Drake failed to rout it in the channel.
