Traditional Designs - Margaret

While doggedly traditional in their craft techniques, Tudor Crystal are keenly sensitive of changing tastes. The Margaret range reflects just such a trend and is, so far, the only suite of Tudor Crystal to receive intaglio treatment, whereby certain elements of the pattern are re-worked to produce a contrasting finish - and a refreshing enhancement of a classic design.

MARGARET, Queen of Scotland, was the daughter of Henry VII. Upon her marriage to James VI of Scotland, the paucity of her dowry caused bitterness, while another dispute (with her brother Henry VIII) helped spark the carnage of Flodden field. Nonetheless, Margaret founded the line of Stuart Kings which eventually united England with Scotland. We must surely drink to that!
